Black Ops 6 beta returns tomorrow with 2 new maps and a new mode—but not the one everyone wants

This mode is sorely missing for many players.

The short-lived break for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta ends tomorrow afternoon, and it will be coming back with some new content and much-needed improvements.

Activision unveiled what players can expect in BO6 when the beta resumes and opens up for people on all platforms, including two new maps, a couple of new modes, and some quality-of-life changes like spawn improvements.

But one mode that players have been yearning for, Search and Destroy, is not listed on what’s to come this weekend. Easily the most-requested mode among social media posts, SnD is a popular option as a one-life mode, compared to everything else which offers respawns.

The new mode coming in weekend two is Gunfight, the two-vs-two round-based mode, along with Face Off Kill Order, which is a mix of two modes previously in weekend one. One new map, Stakeout, will be available in the fast-paced Face Off.

The other new map, a six-vs-six map, is called Babylon. It’s yet another small map, which is an easily noticed pattern so far when it comes to BO6 multiplayer’s offerings. Each of the maps shown off thus far has been small or medium sized.

“Battle amongst the ruins of an ancient city, climbing on its crumbled columns and crawling underneath the palace,” Activision said. “There’s plenty of verticality to make use of here, so stay limber as you circle the central alter and seek out the best ground. Back out to the chapel or depot for more concealed views or get heated and rush the middle.”

Weekend two also includes new unlockable items, all of which can be kept in the full game when it launches on Oct. 25. Every item can be obtained by simply leveling up to max level, level 30, before the beta ends on Sept. 9.
