In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, armor sets are not only for style, but they also offer unique abilities that can benefit Link. The Glide armor set increases Link’s maneuverability while diving, which I have found to be especially useful when jumping from any Sky Island or the Skyview Towers.
Armor sets can provide you with a range of useful abilities, like increased climbing ability and flame resistance, but I would say that few are as useful as the Glide set. Once upgraded by a Great Fairy, the Glide armor can negate fall damage entirely. With this power, you can explore the regions of TOTK with newfound freedom.
Instead of purchasing the Glide armor set with Rupees like you can with various other pieces of armor in TOTK, you will need to earn this set. But in my opinion, it’s worth it. Here’s what you need to do to unlock the Glide set in TOTK.
Where to get the Glide Shirt in TOTK
Like other clothing sets, the Glide armor set is divided up into three separate pieces: chest, legs, and head armor. Each of these pieces requires a different task for the player.

You can find the Glide Shirt after venturing to Courage Island at coordinates (-2231, 0919, 1644) in the sky zone. The best way to get here is to launch yourself up the Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower, which is also where you find the useful Hestu. After doing so, float down to the island shown on the map below.
Once on top of this island, you can activate a new challenge by interacting with a stone ring, as shown in the image below.
After doing so, a green ring will appear near the platform. Leap off the platform through the ring, and follow the course all the way to the lowest island. When you land in the water, a shrine will appear—but that’s not the only thing you’ll find on the island.
Up the stairs by the shrine, you’ll find a Steward Construct, who you can interact with to start the Dive Ceremony challenge to get the Glide Shirt. It will cost you one Zonai Charge, but the Steward Construct will transport you back to the starting platform to start the challenge.
This challenge requires you to dive through a series of rings in under 35 seconds. Don’t fret too much about this time limit, though. I was able to clear it on my first try, so I think it sounds harder than it actually is.
Once you complete this challenge, you will be rewarded with the Glide Shirt by a Steward Construct at the bottom island.
You can also speak to it to start a second challenge: completing the course in under 20 seconds. If you’re able to accomplish this goal, you’ll be awarded one Large Zonai Charge.
Where to get the Glide Tights in TOTK
The Glide Tights can be found on Bravery Island at coordinates (0230, 2071, 1984). Once again, the best way to get to this small sky island is by first going to a Skyview Tower. This time, go to the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower and float to the island marked on the map below. You might need to make a stop at another sky island along the way to regain stamina on your path to the giant corkscrew-like islands that make up this trial. I also relied on Tulin’s Vow quite a bit to push me closer to the island while gliding through the air.
Once here, find the Steward Construct and hand over a Zonai Charge to start the second diving challenge. This second challenge will be very similar to the first: register at the ring-shaped terminal, leap through the first ring to get started, and make your way through all the rings to the pond at the bottom island. I found this challenge to be a bit tougher, though, since the rings move and clouds can obscure your vision.
After this is completed in your allotted amount of time—which is 35 seconds, just like the first challenge—Link will earn the second piece of the Glide set.
Where to get the Glide Mask in Tears of the Kingdom
The final piece of this set can be earned on Valor Island at coordinates (4440, -0872, 2618). To get there, venture to Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower and launch upward. Then, simply paraglide to the challenge location, which will once again be that distinctive corkscrew island in the sky.
Find the Steward Construct on this island just like the ones before and hand over another Zonai Charge to get a shot at this diving attempt. This challenge is just like the other two, in which you need to make your way through several rings in under 35 seconds, but there will be floating islands obstructing your glide path. Be sure to whip out your paraglider here and there to avoid crashing into these obstructions.
After you finish the dive, you will gain the Glide Mask and all three pieces of the set.
