Genshin Impact Lynette leaks: Star rarity, element, weapon type, and more

The Hydro region of Fontaine is slowly getting closer.

While the Genshin Impact devs usually wait until just before a new update is set to release to officially unveil characters, most future additions to Genshin’s roster are generally uncovered by the leak community in advance. However, there are also a select few unique recruits miHoYo showcased long before their official debut like a character named Lynette, who was revealed years ago and now has many leaks surrounding her.

To provide a general look at what players could expect to see throughout the future of Teyvat, miHoYo shared the “Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travail” right around when the game first launched. In this trailer, many recruits were teased way in advance including Kamisato Ayaka, Cyno, and Lynette.

Now, Fontaine is a little over a month away which means Travelers will soon get to explore a whole new region and recruit many new characters from it. Lynette is one such recruit, so players can get to know her ahead of her official arrival.

All Lynette leaks in Genshin Impact

The Genshin leak community is known for being quite reliable. But all leaked content is usually still in development which means what has been uncovered could still later be altered by miHoYo.

Because changes are possible and even probable for most future recruits, players will want to remember that all information surrounding Lynette could change. As new information is uncovered or any changes are made, all information for Lynette will be updated here.

Who is Lynette in Genshin Impact?

Lynette is a confirmed upcoming playable character that Travelers will be able to recruit. She will be featured alongside Lyney on his banner after Fontaine is released.

Lyney and Lynette were originally thought to be a sibling duo but a third sibling was revealed on July 3. This sibling is Freminent, their younger brother who prefers his solitude while Lyney and Lynette are regularly in the spotlight.

Although Lyney and Lynette are a stage duo who regularly put on a magic show, Lynette doesn’t seem to enjoy the spotlight as much as her brother does. Lynette “seeks neither flowers nor applause, avoids interviews, and generally tries to avoid notice.”

Lyney seems to thrive in any situation while Lynette seeks to avoid engaging with others. The Fontaine character also sometimes responds to questions with strange responses like “entering standby mode” or “I need to space out.”

Every instance of Lynette so far has featured her with no expression including her splash art and her many appearances throughout the “Overture Teaser: The Final Feast” trailer. This combined with her description has players wondering if she might be a robot puppet of some kind.

Some of her leaked materials seem to be mechanical which is another factor contributing to the theory that Lynette might be hiding something. Since Arlecchino appeared close to the twins in the “Overture Teaser: The Final Feast” trailer, it’s possible that Lyney and Lynette have some kind of tie to the Fatui Harbingers and that Lynette’s strange state is the result of her being created by them.

What is Lynette’s weapon type in Genshin Impact?

Lynette’s weapon was originally quite a subject of debate within the community, but she now seems to be confirmed as a sword wielder. Since she is a four-star unit, she likely won’t have a signature weapon as most characters of this rarity don’t.

Lynette’s gameplay in Genshin Impact

The exact statistics and details of Lynette’s skillset haven’t been revealed yet, but a general showcase of her abilities has.

What is Lynette’s element in Genshin Impact?

Lynette was confirmed to be an Anemo character by miHoYo when they shared her official artwork on July 3. This means she will harness wind-based abilities in battle.

There are currently two Anemo Sword characters in existence, which are Jean and Kaedehara Kazuha, plus the Anemo Sword version of the Traveler. This makes Lynette’s character type one that most players are fairly familiar with.

What is Lynette’s rarity in Genshin Impact?

Unlike her counterpart Lyney, Lynette is believed to be a four-star unit. This makes her the very first four-star Anemo Sword character to venture into Teyvat.

Although she is believed to be a four-star character, Lynette might also come with some rather unique Anemo capabilities as has been the case with most other characters of this elemental type. The five-star Anemo Catalyst character Wanderer (Scaramouche) can fly for a short period of time, the four-star Anemo Claymore character Sayu can quickly roll across the ground as a concentrated bundle of Anemo power, the five-star Anemo Sword character Jean creates a massive field of healing, and the five-star Anemo Polearm character Xiao plunges up and down through the sky repeatedly.

Because of how immensely versatile and useful Anemo characters tend to be, players can likely expect to see a rather remarkable and impressive skillset from Lynette when she is officially released. The little gameplay that has leaked for her does show her performing some kind of special Anemo run that might make her a useful recruit for exploring Teyvat.

Where is Lynette from in Genshin Impact?

Because she was unveiled during the Fontaine section of miHoYo’s teaser video, Lynette is a Fontaine character. This may mean either that she is indeed from the Hydro region or instead that she originated elsewhere but chose to move to Fontaine.

Considering the theories surrounding her true nature, Lynette may truly originate from elsewhere in Teyvat. Both she and Lyney seem to have a connection to Arlecchino which could mean they actually hail from her House of Hearth orphanage in the Cryo region of Snezhnaya.

When will Lynette release in Genshin Impact?

While no exact release date for Lynette has been revealed just yet, she is officially confirmed for the Version 4.0 update arriving this summer. A new region of Teyvat arrives around once a year as the devs mentioned when unveiling the overall game roadmap and Fontaine is 2023’s regional expansion.

Lynette will be one of the very first recruits players can add to their roster after Fontaine launches. She will be a featured four-star on Lyney’s five-star banner, so when he debuts she will too.

Lyney is currently expected to be the first featured banner and should launch with the Fontaine update on Aug. 16, 2023 which means Lynette will too. There is a small chance both recruits won’t arrive until the second half of the update, but this still means they will arrive fairly soon as phase two is around three weeks after the update is released.

Leaks have also stated that all players who are Adventure Rank 25 or higher will be rewarded with a free Lynette sometime after the update launches. Players generally have to at least work through an event to obtain a free four-star, but there currently seem to be no conditions for the free Lynette which means all players who are level 25 or higher should be able to recruit her.
