Rejoice, console players. Soon nearly all Overwatch fans will be able to participate in a beta for the game’s upcoming sequel, Overwatch 2.
The second run of the Overwatch 2 beta will start on June 28, with registration beginning June 16. Unlike the first iteration of the beta, players on PlayStation and Xbox also seem to be able to participate, since the icons for those systems appear on the announcement. It is unclear if Nintendo Switch players will be able to join the action.
In the few details provided about this upcoming beta today, Blizzard Entertainment teased that the newest hero, Junker Queen, a tank hailing from Junkertown, will be playable. The company also announced that a new yet-to-be revealed map will be added to the rotation. This map joins the previous maps available in the first Overwatch 2 beta, including other new maps like Colosseo, Circuit Royale, and Midtown.

More information regarding this beta, as well as Junker Queen, is set to be unveiled during the Overwatch 2 livestream on June 16. It is likely that not all players who register for the beta will receive access, though Blizzard may once more reward fans with beta access for watching specific streamers. This method of receiving access has not yet been confirmed to return.
Blizzard revealed during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase that Overwatch 2 will be releasing as a free-to-play title in early access on Oct. 4. Players who purchased the original Overwatch will receive two exclusive skins, an icon, and a “surprise gift,” which is set to be announced closer to release.
