What is the Dream SMP Server IP?

Are you joining L'Manberg, Las Nevadas, or Kinoko Kingdom?

If you’ve ventured into the world of servers at all in Minecraft, you’ve probably heard of the Dream SMP. The Minecraft server is perhaps the most widely known server around and boasts quite an impressive lineup of creators.

The Dream SMP began in 2020 and continuously evolved until it became something bigger than the game itself. Minecraft superstar Dream cofounded the server with his close friend GeorgeNotFound due to their mutual desire to simply play around on a survival server, but the Dream SMP expanded far beyond what the duo likely ever thought possible.

What started off as a simple server for friends to play around on evolved into a cinematic world packed with many creators who crafted their own unique stories that also all wound together. The server became a place where the creators always participated in a delicate balance between intense, deep lore and lighthearted, comical humor. The server has continuously boasted immersive storytelling and the elite squad of content creators that have been invited to the server keep on delivering in terms of content.

While it’s a lot of fun to watch everyone on the server and simply following along on their journey is a joy to have by itself, many fans of the server can’t help but wonder whether they could join in on the fun too. After all, you’d only need a server IP to get a piece of the actions, but things aren’t as simple as they may seem when it comes to Dream SMP.

Dream SMP server IP

The Dream SMP has a server IP, but the Minecraft server is a private, whitelisted server, which means that the IP is only given out to players who are invited to the server by Dream himself. Since the server began, there have been many community members claiming that they found the server’s IP address, but they’d still fail to go through the whitelist of Dream SMP even if that was the case, which means that no community member has the ability to simply join the Minecraft server.

The server whitelists all invited content creators or personalities, meaning there’s basically a security check at the entrance. The server’s IP also changes from time to time as a security measure, making it essentially impossible for any Minecraft player who is not personally invited to join.

It may sound unfair at first, but this is a necessary measure to keep up the quality of the content coming out of the server. Not all of the fans who try to join the server may have the best intentions, and some may be disruptive or cause commotion in the server. Thus, it’s best to not try and find your way into the Dream SMP and instead simply stick to doing your own thing.

If you’d like to have a similar experience, you can create your own server based on the original Dream SMP seed and invite your friends to double the fun. The Minecraft server will soon debut a new seed when the official second season of the Dream SMP begins, so fans can also keep an eye out for that when it begins.

Two other creators, Aimsey and Alyssa, were members of the server but both have since departed. The Minecraft server has also previously had special guests like Pokimane and MrBeast, but these creators only play on the server for special events or streams and are not full members.

With the second season of the server ready to begin at any moment, the lineup of creators may expand or shrink depending on who decides to stay or join for the new season. Fans can relax knowing that most creators still plan to be there when season two begins as many of them have shared while livestreaming or on Twitter that everyone is excited to bring the server back to a place where it makes consistent content.

Dream himself has confirmed that to ensure the Dream SMP doesn’t become inactive again, the second season will have some sort of activity requirements that all members, Dream himself included, will need to meet. The Dream SMP didn’t have this requirement before, but this is a pretty standard requirement for Minecraft servers to ensure that they stay active, fresh, and consistently release content for fans to enjoy.

The second season of the Minecraft server will move to a whole new world where things will be drastically different. After many wars, characters, alliances, divisions, and turmoil, season two seems to be set to start anew following TommyInnit’s final lore stream where his canonical character, Dream’s canonical character, and Tubbo’s canonical character spawned into a new world with no memory of who they were before that moment.

How exactly the new world will tie back to the old world and what will happen with the rest of the canonical characters remains to be seen, but the mystery is sure to be answered when the second season does officially begin.

While intense storytelling has always been a key part of the Dream SMP, the second season of the Minecraft server will aim for a better balance between the simple, fun interactions between the roster of creators and the more in-depth storytelling. The second season should begin sometime soon as it was originally set to begin back in August but was likely delayed due to Dream finally face revealing to the world and GeorgeNotFound’s move to America.

A few of the creators have said the second season of the server is expected to start sometime in December 2022, but whether or not this will actually happen is currently unclear. If not, fans can likely expect the activity to pick up again in early 2023.
