The new Magic: The Gathering Bloomburrow set captured the heart of PaymoneyWubby as he cracked Collector booster packs on stream.
Content creator PaymoneyWubby cracked a case of MTG Bloomburrow Collector booster packs this past weekend, scoring over $1,000 worth of collectible cards, including a borderless raised foil anime Ms. Bumbleflower. Many collectors and players have jumped on the BLB hype train based on the adorable animals in the set and its playability. Of the 10 main animal creature types featured, Frogs are PaymoneyWubby’s favorite, ranking them “S-tier on cuteness.” The set is also loaded with cards worth money, from reprints to various treatments like Planeswalkers reimagined as animals.
Heading into the crack pack marathon, PaymoneyWubby had his sights on any of the 20 anime cards. Out of six Collector booster boxes (one case), he pulled the Commander Ms. Bumbleflower, worth around $160 at time of writing. And his excitement over pulling the high-end collectible was contagious (time-stamp at 44:43).
PaymoneyWubby is right to declare the MTG Bloomburrow set as the “best set in years.” And it’s not just about cuteness or money cards. While PaymoneyWubby was cracking Collector booster packs this weekend, many casual and even first-time players were filling up local game stores to play Bloomburrow Prerelease events. Yes, the art from the set is enchanting but the gameplay is top-notch, especially within the Limited Draft and Sealed format.
Constructed play in MTG is undergoing a serious overhaul with the launch of Bloomburrow through the first Standard rotation in two years. Fans were given an early look at the format through the early access streamer event last week and can try it out for themselves when the new set drops into MTG Arena on July 30.
Fans of PaymoneyWubby can check out his stream on July 29 as the content creator continues to crack MTG Bloomburrow packs, seeking to collect every card from the Standard-legal set.
