How to lose Wanted level in Star Wars Outlaws

While you’re becoming one of the galaxy’s most notorious criminals in Star Wars Outlaws, you’ll inevitably run afoul of the Imperials. When that happens, you’ll need to lose your Wanted level.

The Imperials aren’t like the Syndicates you can build or lose reputation with, but they do hold territories you’ll often need to go and steal a thing or two from. If you wind up getting spotted fighting with some Stormtroopers or speeding your way through restricted Imperial areas, you’ll get a big red “WANTED” screen to let you know the Empire is on your tail. Don’t worry, you can lose this status by following this guide.

What does being Wanted mean in Star Wars Outlaws?

If you’re Wanted by the Imperials in Outlaws, it’s basically going to make your life more difficult. On planets with wide-open areas like Toshara, you’ll see Stormtroopers out searching for you, and they’ll engage you on sight. You’ll also run into road blocks, and you might even encounter some walkers ready to put you down. And while all this is happening, you won’t be able to fast travel.

If you keep antagonizing Stormtroopers and getting in fights, you’ll eventually see the Imperial symbol in the top left corner fill all the way with red, and you’ll be notified that a manhunt has been initiated—congrats, you’ve now got Death Troopers to worry about! While the normal Stormtroopers are usually put down with a few shots from your blaster, the Death Troopers hit way harder and are blaster-sponges, even at normal difficulty levels.

How to get rid of Wanted levels in Star Wars Outlaws

There are a couple of ways you can get rid of your Wanted level, but by far the easiest is simply hiding and waiting. If haven’t filled up your Wanted level completely and you’re in a spot where Imperials can’t easily spot you, they’ll eventually call off the search for you. If you’re traveling around on your Speeder, get off the main road, find a decent place to hunker down, then get off the Speeder and just wait. After a while, you’ll hear the Imperial dispatcher call off the search.

If you’re not into waiting around, you can slice into an Imperial terminal and get rid of your Wanted level yourself. This will require you to take out any Stormtroopers around the terminal, but once that’s done, it should be easy enough to slice in, especially if you’ve already found Aila Bren.

If you’re in space and causing a ruckus with the Trailblazer, you can also find some Imperial terminals in satellite form to clear your Wanted status up there. These will be marked on your HUD and in your orbit map with the Imperial symbol.

There are also corrupt Imperial officers in a couple of different places around the galaxy who you can pay off to clear your Wanted status. This is usually pretty cheap and is an easy way to lose Wanted levels if you don’t feel like fighting anyone. There’s one just outside of Makal’s gambling parlor in Mirogana, and another on the bridge after you first enter Kijimi and get past the Ashiga Clan guards.

Finally, if you’re really stuck and have Death Troopers on your case, you’ll need to steal the Death Trooper officer’s key card. “Steal” is a formality here; the Death Troopers are usually arranged in such a way that sneaking up and taking them out one by one is almost impossible. You might get one or two, but you’ll probably end up having to fight and kill all of them.

You can attempt to isolate a couple by whistling from hiding spots or using Nix as a distraction. If you do manage this and they drop a weapon, pick that up immediately. It’s far stronger than your blaster, and these Death Troopers are difficult to put down at the best of times.

Once you’ve got the officer’s keycard, you can clear your Wanted level with it at a Terminal. Just make sure you’ve got a plan before you run in and start blasting here. If you die to the Death Troopers, you’ll lose 1,000 credits. And given how infrequently the game autosaves, that could set you back some serious playtime if you want to try again.
