Shooter fans have been hyped for Shroud’s new first-person shooter since he announced in August he’s been working on a game for the last two years.
Spectre Divide then quickly launched on Sept. 3 on Steam, available only to PC players to hop into for free. With the global release, it comfortably crossed its all-time player count peak (reaching almost 31,000 players on launch day), previously set during its early access.
But when this happens, the servers can become wobbly, leading to widespread issues and ending with devs ultimately deploying a fix with surprise maintenance. With that in mind, you’ll want to check Spectre Divide’s server status.
Are Spectre Divide servers down?
Spectre Divide’s servers may be down or experiencing issues if you’re having trouble queueing for a match, staging in games, or even connecting to the online servers.
When you’re facing such issues, check Spectre Divide’s X (formerly Twitter) account for developer updates to stay in the loop. E.g., just a few hours after Spectre Divide’s launch, several matchmaking errors popped up, leading to longer queue times and, in some cases, no matches at all. The developers then took down Spectre Divide servers to deploy a hotfix, making them live again after a couple of hours.
How to check Spectre Divide server status
There’s no official page to check Spectre Divide’s server status, but you can join the game’s official Discord server to check the spectre-news channel for the latest updates by community staff. You’ll find quicker and more updates on this channel.
If the servers are up and running, fix the problem on your end by:
- Restarting your router.
- Restarting your game, and if the problem persists, your whole PC.
- Contact your ISP to see if there’s issues in the backend.
