There are a handful of attacks you can teach Shadow Conkeldurr. These choices have various stats attached; only a specific combination is considered the best. As you might expect from a powerful Fighting-type Pokémon, this choice is vital in Pokémon Go to ensure it can deal the most damage before it falls against an opponent.

When you use Shadow Conkeldurr, the best moveset to give it is the fast move Counter and the charged moves Dynamic Punch and Brutal Swing. Similar to Machamp, it is a Fighting-type Pokémon, meaning it has far stronger stats in attack power than it does with its defenses. It’s still weak against Fairy, Flying, and Psychic-type attacks, but is resistant against Bug, Dark, and Rock-type moves in Pokémon Go.

With a Shadow Conkeldurr on your team, treat it as one of your primary attackers. Like other Shadow Pokémon, Shadow Conkeldurr receives a 20 percent increase in its attack power, but its defenses decrease by 20 percent. This isn’t a huge problem for Conkeldurr, as it heavily relies on its attack power, and increasing that only makes it a more desirable choice.

Of the fast move choices available to Shadow Conkeldurr, Counter is the best. The other option is Poison Jab, and while it is decent for Poison-type Pokémon, Shadow Conkeldurr relies on Counter far more. Counter receives a boost as a Fighting-type attack and generates a good amount of energy, making it easier to unleash charged attacks.

Now, there are several moves to pick from regarding Shadow Conkeldurr’s charged attacks. These are all the charged attacks you can choose for Shadow Conkeldurr in Pokémon Go.

  • Brutal Swing (Dark-type)
  • Dynamic Punch (Fighting-type)
  • Focus Blast (Fighting-type)
  • Frustration (Fighting-type)
  • Stone Edge (Rock-type)

Brutal Swing and Dynamic are your top choices. Giving Shadow Conkeldurr a Dark-type move protects it from Psychic-type Pokémon and gives it an attack against Flying-types. Unfortunately, it is vulnerable to Fairy-type Pokémon attacks, but you can always prepare for that when crafting your full team. Although Focus Blast is a strong choice, as is Stone Edge, these moves don’t perform as well on Shadow Conkeldurr.

Is Shadow Conkeldurr good in Pokémon Go?

We can confirm that Shadow Conkeldurr is stronger than its standard form. The two are relatively close, but Shadow Conkeldurr performs exceptionally well in the Master League, and you’ll primarily want to use it in five-star raids or when you’re challenging Team Rocket members in Pokémon Go, such as the head of the organization Giovanni, or any of the leaders, like Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra.
