GTA Online‘s mansion update, aka “A Safehouse in the Hills” DLC, was launched on Dec. 10, 2025, and it introduced luxury mansions, new missions, and the return of Michael De Santa from GTA 5‘s story mode.
You can purchase three high-end properties that can be fully upgraded. These mansions feature AI assistants, trophy cabinets, salons, pet kennels, garages, private security, and much more.
This update also introduces several new vehicles, including the Vapid FMJ MK V supercar, Grotti GT750, and Progen Luiva, among others. Additionally, it features drip-fed additions such as drift tunes, law enforcement rides, and missile lock-on jammers for select cars. Here’s everything you need to know about the new GTA 5 mansion update, including new missions, characters, and more.

Mansions and AI Assistant
The 1.72 update introduces three high-end, fully upgradeable mansions accessed through the new Prix Luxury Real Estate website, each offering exclusive social spaces, utility rooms, and progression features.

Every mansion comes with an AI Assistant contact (with three selectable personalities) that can speed up one chosen business, provide fast travel across owned properties, and organize parties, both from inside the property and via your in-game phone.
These estates include a multi-floor layout with an office, featuring a Master Control Terminal, activity rooms like a media space, spa, salon, cigar room, and trophy displays, plus an exterior gym, yoga area with temporary stat buffs, and a rooftop helipad.
The underground levels house a 20-car garage, private nightclub, shared cash vault, optional pets (dog and cat), and purchasable add-ons such as an armory, arcade, vehicle podium, and full vehicle workshop with access to HSW, Benny’s, and drift tuning for GTA+ members.
KnoWay Out missions and events
A new story arc titled “KnoWay Out” is fronted by Avi Schwartzman, who contacts players about a self-driving taxi company called KnoWay, offering five missions that can be completed solo or in a group of up to four. These missions award new in-game accolades and contribute to Career Progress challenges on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and the enhanced PC version .
The update also adds a “Getaway Driver” random event, letting players step in during an active robbery to earn extra cash and RP.
New and updated vehicles

Five fresh vehicles arrive with this patch:
- Vapid FMJ MK V (Super, with HSW upgrade on newer platforms)
- Progen Luiva (Super)
- Pfister X-treme (Super)
- Ubermacht Sentinel XS4 (Sedan)
- Grotti GT750 (Sports Classic)
Initially, the FMJ MK V and Luiva are time-limited GTA+ exclusives before opening up for general purchase after Dec. 18.
A large roster of older cars and motorcycles returns to open sale, many now compatible with the Missile Lock-on Jammer when upgraded in an Agency mod shop, while a separate list of aircraft can receive the same defensive upgrade in the Hangar workshop.
New actions and experience tweaks
Four new character actions are available via the Interaction Menu or Quickplay Action prompt, expanding emote and expression options during gameplay. Players now receive GTA$500 alongside RP for rating user-made content, and vehicle vendor websites feature a curated tab showcasing popular cars from previous updates to improve browsing.
Mission creator and GTA+ changes
The update debuts a dedicated Mission Creator, allowing players to design and publish their own missions, with five sample jobs included as editable templates to demonstrate different objective structures and setups.
GTA+ subscribers gain extra utility from the Vinewood Club app, which can dispatch staff from owned properties (like Hangars and Warehouses) on jobs remotely, and if they own a mansion with a Vehicle Workshop, they can apply the same exclusive modification suites normally reserved for the Vinewood Club Garage, including HSW, Benny’s, and drift-tuning options.
