If you’re looking to stock up on your sake and take down Lord Saito’s camps in Ghost of Yotei, we’ve got you covered.

How to get sake in Ghost of Yotei

To get your hands on sake in Ghost of Yotei, you’ll have to search dead enemies or purchase it from the merchants, such as Taro the Scavenger, who appears fairly early in the game. You can set up a camp and call them to visit you to trade with them and pay coins to purchase items, including sake. If the enemies aren’t dropping sake, you can fight Saito’s men in the camps and eliminate them.

After the townsfolk have settled in, take a moment to explore the area you’ve just liberated. You’ll often find sake bottles scattered around, perfect for restocking your inventory. Another way to get sake is by using Charms, such as the Charm of Fortune’s Grip, which allows you to recover your weapon quickly after getting disarmed while also getting yourself a sake jar, which could turn the tide of a losing battle very quickly. You can buy it for 200 coins.

Drinking sake in Ghost of Yotei allows Atsu to fill her Spirit bar moderately, allowing her to heal during a fight or even use a special ability using the Spirit to take down difficult enemies. It can also be used to craft fire ammo for the bow, or as a lethal tool to set enemies on fire from a distance before taking on the fight.

Sake slightly blurs Atsu’s vision for a short time, though it doesn’t greatly affect combat. If you’re preparing for a camp assault, drink it early and wait for the effect to fade. After finishing the sake, you’ll receive an empty sake jar, which is handy for distracting enemies or drawing them into tall grass for a stealth kill.
