All cracks formed on the Fortnite island by earthquakes so far

Season seven might end with drastic map changes.
This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

At the end of every Fortnite: Battle Royale season, players generally witness weird events across the island—and it looks like the end of season seven won’t be any different. The ground is cracking around the northeast area near Tomato Temple and Lazy Links.

Players first saw a crack forming southwest of Tomato Temple after an earthquake. It’s still there, on a hill to the right of the river. Later that day, a second crack formed between the Temple and Lazy Links, close to a bridge over the river. Fortnite leakers say many more cracks are expected, and fans have already built a huge table with all of the dates and times for when these cracks might appear.

What are these cracks?

Nobody is sure about what these cracks represent. They’re probably part of the season eight lead-up event, as leaked by dataminers a few weeks ago. But it’s unclear what exactly will end up happening after all of these cracks are open.

Weird things have been going on for a while. Players first experienced many earthquakes during their matches every few hours some days ago. They increased in intensity but caused no changes to the map. Only the most recent ones started forming cracks on the ground.

Theories and speculations mention a volcano rising from the Fortnite island, exactly around the area where the cracks are forming and where leaks show a different Wailing Woods with burned soil. And that makes sense because mountains and volcanoes in real life arise from the same phenomenon that causes earthquakes. If it’s happening in Fortnite, it’s way faster than it would be in real life.

Where are the cracks?

Fortnite players have witnessed very few cracks forming so far. These are all the cracks in the order players that they were discovered.

We’ll update this story when more cracks appear in Fortnite.
