If you already pre-purchased your digital copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch eshop, you might want to check your emails for a special DLC code.

That’s right, the Piranha Plant DLC code is already starting to be sent out now to those who purchased the game digitally. You’ll need to redeem this code as soon as possible in order to get the DLC fighter the moment he goes live.

It should be mentioned, however, that the code is only going out to those that purchased the game digitally. If you’re buying a physical version of the game at retail, you won’t receive the code until a later date.

If you did buy the digital version of the game and haven’t had a code in your inbox, you might want to check your spam folder. You only get one code per purchase so if you lose it or accidentally delete it, you’ll be unable to get the character for free.

If you haven’t got your code yet, there is no need to be alarmed. It might just take a few extra days to be sent to your email. If you don’t receive the code after a few weeks, however, it might be time to send Nintendo’s customer support service an email to see what is going on.

Piranha Plant was a surprise DLC fighter announcement made during the Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct a few days ago. The character is free for anyone who purchases the game before Jan. 31.

There are also five more DLC characters on the way for the game after Piranha Plant. All the characters will be released before the end of February 2020.
