Lucky players around the world are getting their first taste of EA FC 25 with the closed beta—or at least they would be if EA Sports didn’t break it.
The EA FC 25 closed beta began on Aug. 6, with players receiving access via email. Each player chosen falls into three categories that decide which main game mode they can access: Ultimate Team, Career Mode, or Pro Clubs.
A major issue with the EA FC 25 beta has prevented everyone from trying the game. Since the beta opened, players have been stuck in the main menu with no modes to choose from.
The issue first arose immediately after the EA FC 25 beta went live on Aug. 6, but initially, there was a workaround. Players could disconnect their console from the internet and then reconnect to gain access, though this had unintended consequences, as it opened up all game modes to everyone.
EA Sports appears to have fixed that issue, limiting the game modes each user can access, but there have been unintended consequences. Social media is full of players complaining about the issue.
Crucially, it’s worth remembering the strict rules surrounding access to the EA FC 25 beta that restrict you from discussing your experience. While these issues are frustrating, sharing screenshots of the home screen where the missing game modes should feature breaks those rules.
The safest course of action is to remain silent on the matter or stick to EA’s official feedback channels. We recommend trying to load into the EA FC 25 beta every few hours to see if the issue gets resolved. But don’t share images on social media asking for fixes.
If you didn’t receive access to the EA FC 25 closed beta, your first opportunity to play the game is through early access in September.
