While most Dead by Daylight players are enjoying the new two-vs-eight game mode, a red visual glitch has rendered one of the maps unplayable.
Survivors and Killers alike can travel to new sections of the Blood Lodge, a map taking place within the Auto Haven realm. Within the map, a section of the exterior wall can randomly glitch out, replacing the entire area with a large red square.
DBD players likely won’t be too surprised by glitches or server downtimes, since every major update will typically break some portion of the game. This bug is a major graphical and gameplay glitch, however, since you can now explore previously inaccessible portions of the map beyond the exterior walls. Furthermore, if you happen to jump off the side of the map, your character will teleport back to their original position or another random area of the Blood Lodge.
This glitch is already being exploited during Trials, causing players to either celebrate its randomness or detest how buggy the game has become. One user posted a clip on X (formerly Twitter) showcasing how they jumped off the map, only to teleport right in front of the Killer to get a quick flashlight save. Other players have used the glitch to extend chases or dodge the Killer’s attacks by constantly jumping off the edge of the map.
This bug comes at an unfortunate time for DBD, as the new two-vs-eight game mode has brought a surge of new and returning Killers and Survivors. The Blood Lodge is available in both the regular and two-vs-eight versions of the game, so all players can be affected by this glitch.
There has been no official communication regarding the bug from the game’s developers at the time of writing. But chances are high the Behaviour Interactive will fix the glitch as soon as possible. Until then, enjoy flinging your character off the side of the map for as long as you can.
