How to moan in CS:GO

Ohhhhh.

The CS:GO console is usually reserved for serious players who set up binds for convenience and efficiency. It can be used for adjusting settings, crosshairs, radars, and pretty much anything else that increases your performance. But it can do other things too, like moaning.

For those who aren’t interested in leveling up their game and climbing the ranks, the console can also be used for pure and unadulterated fun. One of the most popular binds in the community is the hilarious moan bind.

Here’s how to moan in CS:GO.

To set up a moan bind, all you have to do is find a spare key and pair it with a command to play the sound effect at will. When pushing this keybind, the radio command of the moaning sound will blurt out to your teammates.

Since this is a standard radio command that everyone has access to, your entire team can hear the sound whenever the command is activated.

This hilarious moaning sound is what your character sounds like when they die.

A step-by-step guide to moaning in CS:GO

To moan in CS:GO, follow these steps:

  • Launch CS:GO and choose “Settings”
  • Go to “Game”
  • Search for “Enable Developer Console” and change it to “Yes”
  • Press “~” to open the console
  • Type bind <key> “playerradio deathcry moan”

For the “<key>” tag, this is where you type in a key of your choosing. If you want your moan bind to be “N,” for example, the command will look like this: N “playerradio deathcry moan”.

In my experience, choosing a key you tend not to use is the safest option for a moan bind. You don’t want to accidentally press it in the middle of a tense situation.

Unfortunately, Valve has disabled the command in normal matchmaking, so moaning is only available when sv_cheats is activated. This means you will only be able to moan in custom matches—unless you use your own microphone, of course.

How to enable sv_cheats in CS:GO

  • Go to a custom CS:GO lobby
  • Press “~” to open the console
  • Type sv_cheats 1
  • Type sv_playerradio_use_allowlist 0

Once the bind is activated, you’ll finally be able to moan to your heart’s content in your next custom CS:GO game and surely garner a few laughs from your friends.
