Former Na`Vi and FlipSid3 Tactics rifler Denis “seized” Kostin will be joining Gambit on a three-month-long trial period. He will be replacing Bektiyar “fitch” Bahytov on the lineup.

Fitch, who joined the team on Aug. 15, came in as a replacement for in-game leader Daniil “zeus” Teslenko. Zeus was considered one of the key players behind Gambit’s victory at the PGL Kraków Major, but after internal issues Zeus left to re-join Na`Vi.

Gambit’s decision to remove fitch comes only two weeks after the team’s lackluster performance at the ELEAGUE Major: Boston. Although the team attended the tournament as defending champions, Gambit were unable to impress at the event and were ultimately eliminated in ninth place. That means they miss out on automatic qualification for the next Major through the legend spots.

Seized, who himself is a veteran of two Valve Major finals, will now be adding more experience to the already established roster, which features veterans Mikhail “dosia” Stolyarov and Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev.

While Gambit certainly ended 2017 as champions, 2018 sees the team once again in the underdog role. Gambit will be hoping that seized can help them get back towards trophies this year.
