Two-time Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Valve Major champion Lincoln “fnx” Lau will not continue competing with the Brazilian Immortals roster, and the organization says it’s looking for a permanent replacement for the player. In the meantime, the squad’s coach, Rafael “zakk” Fernandes, will be the fifth man on the roster.

Fnx’s career has lasted for longer than a decade and has spanned across all three iterations of Counter-Strike. The most successful period in his career, however, came in 2016, when he won both the MLG Columbus and ESL One Cologne Valve Majors with the current SK Gaming roster.

But despite this international success, fnx was eventually removed from the Brazilian SK Gaming roster on Dec. 9, as the squad was unable to win any further titles in 2016.

Once fnx became part of Immortals, the squad enjoyed a fair bit of success in competitions, and were looking to be one of the favorite teams from North America to qualify for the upcoming PGL Major. But it appears that despite their relative success, internal problems led to fnx’s departure. “One of the biggest problems we’ve faced are internal issues that, unfortunately, affected in-game performance,” the team wrote in its announcement.
