Concord players beg devs for a trophy-hunting XP boost before game gets shut down

It's a really unfortunate situation for everyone involved.

The sudden closure of PlayStation hero shooter Concord came as a shock to many in the industry, but some felt it way more than others.

The game’s development team, unfortunately, feels it harder than anyone. After years of working on the game, only to see it shut down in just two weeks before any seasonal content in its roadmap could launch, it must be devastating. And then there are PS5 trophy hunters.

Firewalk Studios design director Josh Hamrick posted a short gameplay clip from Concord on Twitter/X yesterday and it was met with many players showing love and support for the FPS and its impending demise. But among the support was several players hoping for some help in getting their final tasks to unlock the game’s Platinum Trophy.

“Brooo please talk to someone about an XP boost,” one player said. “I’ve been grinding like crazy but it’s not possible in 3 days for me to get to 100.”

One of Concord’s time-consuming trophies, “Experienced Freegunner,” requires players to reach level 100. The rest are simple enough, such as leveling each character to 10, getting 50 kills with each character, and so on. But the level 100 goal seems out of reach for many.

“Please give us an XP boost before server shutdown,” another Concord fan said. “I have really enjoyed my time with it and was so looking forward to getting to lvl 100. But in the current state getting from 49 to 100 is gonna be impossible in the next three days.”

The thirst for XP with just a couple of days left before the servers get shut down is so high, in fact, that players are flocking to the round-based Rivalry mode for its XP boost and committing mass suicide to end the games faster.

Many players likely hope Concord finds a way to revive itself and come back in a way that better fits the gaming community’s wants and needs. Then, even if there’s no XP boost, perhaps players can get their last few trophies if the reborn title returns.
