Call of Duty: Warzone season five is just around the corner, and fans are hoping it brings more excitement than season four. The last update added a few things, like the return of Havoc mode and a new area in Downtown, but overall, many players felt it didn’t offer enough fresh content to keep the community hooked for long.
This time around, things could be different. CoD eason five is expected to be one of the last big updates connected to Black Ops 6, and the blog reveals more game modes, map changes, and weapons. Here’s everything you need to know about what’s coming in the Warzone season five update.

Warzone season 5 release date

Call of Duty: Warzone season five officially drops on Aug. 7, 2025, bringing with it a major shake-up to Verdansk and a fresh set of content for players to explore. As always, the update will go live at 11am CT, though it’s smart to log in early if you want to beat the crowds and dive straight into the action.
With new contracts, gameplay modes, and a heavily teased live event, this season is set to be one of the most exciting ones. Whether you’re a casual player or grinding ranked, make sure your game is updated and your loadouts are ready—because things are about to get explosive.
The Verdansk Stadium opens in Warzone season 5
After years of rumors and speculation, the iconic Verdansk Stadium is finally opening, and not in a quiet way. Through a new in-game contract known as Satellite Hijack, you will be tasked to break into the Stadium to uncover covert operations hidden deep within the facility.
You’ll need to outpace rival teams as you fight your way through each stage of the contract. Completing the objective will earn you a powerful, exclusive reward which hasn’t been revealed yet. However, it is expected to be a weapon blueprint that’s not only usable for the rest of the match but also permanently added to your gunsmith inventory.
This opportunity won’t last long as the Satellite Hijack Contract is available for a limited window, so make sure to squad up and drop in early.
Warzone season 5 new weapons and attachments
The upcoming season in Warzone is set to feature four new weapons and two attachments. Here’s the full list, along with how you can add them to your inventory:
- PML 5.56 LMG (HVT reward in battle pass page three)
- ABR A1 assault rifle ( HVT reward in battle pass page six)
- Boxing Gloves melee (event reward) (in-season)
- Gravemark .357 Revolver pistol (event reward) (mid-season)
- 9mm PM Skull Splitter (battle pass page seven reward)
- PPSh-41 Helical Magazine (event reward) (in-season)

Warzone season 5 LTMs
Season five is also introducing a new limited-time mode, Stadium Resurgence, designed to help players make the most of the revamped POI, and Deadline, scheduled to release during the mid-season.
The Stadium Resurgence mode drops squads directly into the stadium area, where close-quarters chaos unfolds at a lightning-fast pace. You can expect quick loadouts, smaller teams, and a much more intense version of Resurgence than you’re used to.
The Deadline LTM, on the other hand, is not just about eliminations. In this intense squad-based mode, your goal is to earn as many points as possible between each circle collapse, because when the gas closes in, the lowest-scoring teams are instantly cut from the match.

And that’s not all, more LTMs, ranked tweaks, and seasonal events are expected to be revealed as the weeks go on. Activision is keeping a few surprises close to the chest, but if past seasons are any indication, players should expect a healthy mix of innovation and nostalgia.
Season 5 is shaping up to be a high-octane turning point for Warzone. From the dramatic stadium reveal to the fast-paced new modes, this is one update you’ll want to drop in for.
