After a 0-2 start in Stage 2 of the Call of Duty World League, Team eLevate has decided to make a change to their roster. The team announced earlier today on Reddit that they have released Remy (Remington Ihringer). In the comments, eLevate confirmed that they have a replacement set up but cannot announce the name yet, most likely because of contract issues. However, they were able to confirm that the replacement will not be Parasite (Christopher Duarte), formerly of compLexity Gaming and famously, Fariko Impact, the Black Ops II World Champions.

It is an interesting move to say the least, only being a week into Stage 2 and with the team showing a lot of potential, finishing T4 at Stage 1 Finals. The roster was also known for having incredible chemistry, something that replacing a player will probably not help.

The squad of AquA, Faccento, Nagafen, and Remy gained notoriety mostly through their incredible performance at the Call of Duty Championship last March under the Team Revenge banner, finishing as runners-up. The team shocked many with wins over Australian powerhouse, Mindfreak, and popular North American teams, FaZe Red and Prophecy, beating the former twice in the tournament.

A rumor floating around the community is that a player such as Royalty (Matthew Faithfull) will leave his current team to complete the roster and fill the main Assault Rifle hole left by Remy’s departure. Others have speculated that former Counter Logic Gaming members, FeLony (Tyler Johnson) and Accuracy (Lamar Abedi) are more likely possibilities due to them not being in Stage 2 of the CWL, although they may not be as good of a fit for the team.

We may not know the replacement for a few days with Team eLevate not having a match tomorrow, as their match against compLexity Gaming is the “Match of the Week” and was moved to be played on Thursday. They do, however, play a 2-0 FaZe Clan on Wednesday, which will require them to be at their strongest.

Who do you believe eLevate should pick up to replace Remy?
