Most notably, Treyarch wrote about mastery camos in Zombies and Blackout, upcoming features in Zombies, improved looting for console Blackout players, and the highly-anticipated League Play.

In multiplayer, players can earn mastery camos like Gold, Diamond, and Dark Matter by completing specific challenges. And now, Treyarch plans to add new, unique mastery camos for Zombies and Blackout in late January.

“Gameplay is very different across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout, and we want the bragging rights that go with these camos to mean something in the modes where they’re shown off,” Treyarch said. “As such, we’re building out Mastery Camo progression systems in both Zombies and Blackout that have unique, custom-tailored challenges that will represent that players have completed challenges designed for the modes where they are equipped.”

In addition, new features will be added to Zombies relatively soon. Three new Elixirs are coming to PS4, as well as balancing changes to current Elixirs. Treyarch said it’ll have more details to share on a “very Zombies-specific date” next week—which will likely be Jan. 15, in reference to Element 115.

A “much-improved interface for looting” is coming to Blackout for console players in next week’s 1.11 update. “This includes an easier-to-navigate interface that allows console players to quickly scroll through a multi-row grid, loot the items they want, and get back into the fight even faster,” Treyarch said.

Finally, Treyarch said that League Play, the highly-anticipated competitive playlist, will be added to Black Ops 4 by the end of January.

There’s a lot to look forward to this month in Black Ops 4—and next week’s 1.11 update is likely just the beginning of an exciting year for Call of Duty fans.
