Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was officially confirmed as the next title in the popular first-person shooter series on March 8.

Since then, tons of rumors were circulating about what features the game will include, as well as how the title could play. But Activision and Treyarch have now released more information about Black Ops 4 following the official community reveal event.

Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming Call of Duty title, Black Ops 4.

Confirmed

The official community reveal event for Black Ops 4 took place on May 17—and Call of Duty fans learned a lot about the upcoming game.

Previous reports that Black Ops 4 won’t include a traditional single-player campaign were confirmed at the reveal event. A battle royale mode called Blackout was also announced and confirmed during the Black Ops 4 community reveal.

The reveal event showcased multiplayer action, as well as trailers for the three Zombies maps that will be included with Black Ops 4 at launch. Multiplayer will be 100 percent boots-on-the-ground, feature predictive recoil and a new manual healing system, and specialists will make their return to Call of Duty gameplay. The popular League Play competitive mode was also confirmed at the reveal event.

We also know that Black Ops 4 will be released on Oct. 12—one month earlier than expected. Most Call of Duty titles have been launched in early November each year, but Black Ops 4 bucks that trend.

Prospective players can already preorder Black Ops 4, too. Additional preorder incentives will likely be revealed closer to the game’s release date.
