There are quite a few familiar faces from the CoD franchise that are making a return, including David “Section” Mason, Mike Harper, and even the infamous villain from Black Ops 2, Raul Menendez.

Apart from them, the co-op campaign will feature a bunch of new characters as well. Here’s a list of some of the notable new characters in Black Ops 7:

  • Eric Samuels and Leilani “50/50” Tupuola – New members of the Specter One team, headed by Mason.
  • Emma Kagan – CEO of The Guild.
  • Slade “Razor” Barrick – Leader of the Specter Two team.

BO7 Co-op Campaign storyline

The Black Ops 7 Campaign picks up in the year 2035, carrying forward the storyline laid out in Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. The world is on the edge of collapse, torn apart by brutal conflicts and a new era of psychological warfare. At the center of the chaos is none other than Raul Menendez, who makes his ominous return with a chilling broadcast, declaring his intent to “burn the world down in three days.”

In the face of this global crisis, a powerful force known as The Guild emerges. This high-tech conglomerate claims to provide security where governments have failed, but its true intentions remain shrouded in mystery.

The campaign kicks off with Mason’s squad being sent to Avalon, a vast Mediterranean metropolis, tasked with investigating The Guild’s growing influence. What begins as a straightforward tactical mission soon unravels into something far darker, pulling players into a web of conspiracies, hidden agendas, and unsettling truths that blur the line between ally and enemy.

The squad soon uncovers a horrifying new weapon; one designed not to kill outright, but to weaponize fear itself. This psychological device doesn’t just break enemies physically; it shatters their perception of reality. Once the team is exposed, their mission takes a dark turn as hallucinations twist familiar surroundings into nightmarish battlefields.

Every step forward becomes more unstable, as distorted versions of the squad’s own memories resurface. Allies begin to question each other, and paranoia sets in, threatening to tear the unit apart from within.

You will face missions set in a wide range of striking environments. From the dazzling glow of neon-soaked rooftops in Japan to tense encounters along the Mediterranean coast, the settings are as varied as they are dangerous. However, the journey doesn’t stop in the physical world, as at key points, players will dive into the deepest corners of the human psyche, where memory, fear, and madness collide.

As the campaign unfolds, the boundary between what’s real and what’s imagined grows thinner. The result is a gripping narrative where survival depends not only on firepower but also on holding onto sanity.

Black Ops 7 Endgame, explained

Endgame in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 isn’t framed as just another final mission but rather is pitched as the ultimate test of everything you’ve learned. This climactic chapter transforms Avalon into a fully explorable environment. Here, you will lean on your personalized abilities and face unpredictable challenges that push teamwork and strategy to the limit.

What makes Endgame truly groundbreaking is its scale. The experience begins with the familiar four-player co-op setup, but then dramatically expands into a massive showdown that supports up to 32 real-world players. This ambitious leap turns the traditional campaign finale into an MMO-like cooperative event, redefining how Call of Duty delivers story-driven climaxes.

Unlike the tightly guided, linear missions of the past, Endgame embraces open-world design. You can roam Avalon freely, experiment with different tactics, and put your hard-earned skills to use in ways that feel dynamic and personal. The shift makes every run unique, ensuring the finale isn’t just about finishing the campaign, but about proving yourself against the toughest challenges the game has to offer.
