A champion has been crowned at the Twitch Rivals Apex Legends TwitchCon Europe Showdown today.
Rogue—Jordan “HusKers” Thomas, Chris “sweetdreams” Sexton, and Mark “Dropped” Thees—came in first place at this $500,000 tournament. Prizing was based on eliminations and placements, and Rogue secured just under $75,000 for their performance at the event.
Probably the biggest surprise for Apex fans, though, is that NRG Esports didn’t win—instead, they came in second. NRG’s Coby “dizzy” Meadows is considered one of the best players in Apex, having won several other tournaments over the past few months.

Although they didn’t win this tournament, dizzy and NRG still earned over $41,000 for their second-place performance.
Apex esports may still be in its infancy, but tournaments like these should continue to help the scene develop moving into the second half of 2019.
