Over 100 additional Pokémon have joined Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in The Teal Mask DLC, including Feebas and its evolution Milotic.
While Feebas is a relatively weak Pokémon, Milotic is a powerful addition to any team, making the evolution line similar to what fans immediately became accustomed to in Generation I with Magikarp and Gyarados.
While Magikarp is one of the most common Pokémon in any game it features in, the same cannot be said for Feebas. This Fish Pokémon is a rare spawn in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC and requires some work to find.
Where to find Feebas in The Teal Mask DLC
To find and catch a Feebas, you’ll need to head to the Crystal Pool at the summit of Oni Mountain, which can be found in the middle of the Kitakami region in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC.
The area has two Tera Raid Den locations. Locate the one closest to the water, as shown in the video below, and find the cave entrance nearby. You’ll tumble down quite a way before reaching a room that has a member of the Ogre clan.
There’s only one exit to this room, which again results in a big fall, and you’ll land in some water. The most common spawn in the water is Barboach, but you can also find Whiscash, as well as the all-important Feebas you’ve been looking for. In this same area, on the land next to the pond, you’ll find Clefairy, Salandit, and occasionally, Carbink.
It may take a while for Feebas to surface from below the water. Before you see the Water-type Pokémon, you’ll see a series of tear-like droplet icons that are a lighter shade of blue appear from beneath the pond’s surface. If you stay close to these tears, as shown in the video below, a Feebas will eventually peak its head above water. Swim up to it or throw a Poké Ball at it to begin the encounter.
If you’re having trouble finding a Feebas through this method, you can try and find a Feebas Tera Raid or a Milotic Tera Raid. If you find the latter, you’ll need to breed the Milotic with a Ditto to get a Feebas.
Tera Raids are located across the Kitakami map, though you will have to rely on luck to come across one. You can always join up with other players online to locate a Milotic or Feebas raid faster. I found my first Feebas through a Tera Raid but caught several others in the Oni Mountain Cave before I located one with the Nature I was looking for.
How to catch Feebas in The Teal Mask DLC
If you’ve located a Feebas in the wild, you’ll need to catch it. Luckily for players, this part is much easier than actually finding the Water type. All you need to do is lower the Pokémon’s health and then throw a Poké Ball at it. To make this easier for me, I opted to use one of my Pokémon that knows Scald. Not only would the Water-type attack ensure the Feebas wouldn’t faint in the process, I could also bet on the attack inflicting a Burn status effect, which would increase my chances of catching Feebas.
I also chose to throw a Dive Ball at the Feebas instead of a standard Poké Ball. Dive Balls increase the odds of catching a Pokémon “in or on the water,” according to the item’s in-game description. Similarly, a Net Ball, which increases the catch rate for Water or Bug Pokémon, will also do the trick.
