What are Titan Rune dungeons in WoW Wrath of the Lich King Classic?

There's a new difficulty coming to dungeons.

World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King Classic officially launched its second phase on Jan. 17. Brining back the memorable Ulduar raid, and introduced entirely new concept for Classic players—Titan Rune dungeons. In Phase three, Titan Rune dungeons have evolved and changed.

Titan Rune is an entirely new difficulty that players can manually activate once inside a Heroic dungeon by interacting with the Mysterious Device planted near all instance’s entries. For players of modern WoW, Titan Rune dungeons are reminiscent of Mythic+ dungeons and give better loot. After completing this significantly harder challenge, players are greatly rewarded for their efforts.

What are Titan Rune dungeons in WoW WOTLK Classic?

Titan Rune dungeons are entirely new dungeon difficulty available only in WOTLK Classic version of the game. All currently available dungeons on Normal and Heroic difficulty can be turned to Titan Rune dungeons by interacting with Mysterious Device at the very entrance of the dungeon. After that, you’ll trigger special effect in the dungeon. This means enemies will deal bonus damage, they will have more health, and they will have a special effect that will change from a dungeon to dungeon.

But, it’s not all that bad. Titan Rune dungeons will award you loot that drops from 10-man Ulduar and Sidereal Essence, which can be exchanged in Dalaran for even more Ulduar loot.

Titan Rune dungeon effects

To activate Titan Rune difficulty and receive the rewards, players will need to interact with an object called the ‘Mysterious Device.’ This device will increase both health and damage of all enemies in the instance, including trash mobs and bosses alike.

Health and damage buffs will vary from dungeon to dungeon, along with a unique debuff applied to players that will also be dungeon specific.

Titan Rune dungeons rewards

Along with the regular Emblem of Valor that drops with every boss slain, killing the final boss will also reward Sidereal Essence. Both of these currencies can be used in Dalaran to purchase high item level gear from vendors, but Sidereal Essence can be exchanged for gear from Hard Mode Ulduar gear at the Animated Constellation vendor in Dalaran.

The gear which can drop from bosses in Titan Rune dungeons will come from the 10-player version of Ulduar.
