The first stage of the FACEIT London Major is complete and eight new Legends have been determined.
TyLoo, BIG, and Vega Squadron are the final three teams moving on to the New Legend stage of the 13th Valve Major in CS:GO history. They join Team Liquid, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Astralis, HellRaisers, and compLexity Gaming as the eight contenders advancing from the New Challenger stage.

The closest maps of today included TyLoo narrowly edging out Team Spirit in triple overtime 25-23, BIG winning a huge round 30 vs. OpTic on map two Train, and Vega barely taking map two Mirage over recent DreamHack Masters Stockholm champion North. All three matches ended in 2-0 sweeps, with Spirit, OpTic, and North being eliminated from Major contention.
Some highlights from today include TyLoo AWPer Kevin “xccurate” Susanto getting three clutches vs. Team Spirit, Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov averaging 26 kills per map vs. North, and OpTic being knocked out despite Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke’s light-hearted banter with BIG’s Owen “smooya” Butterfield.

The FACEIT Major will return on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at the New Legend stage, featuring competition between eight new Legends and eight returning Legends from the ELEAGUE Boston Major in January.
