Is XDefiant free to play?

XDefiant will make gamers on a budget extremely happy.

XDefiant is the new COD-killing competitor ready to take out a large portion of the shooter market. It’s bringing a ton of different Tom Clancy games together to create an experience that fans of the collection can play till their dying days, but is it free to play?

The six-vs-six title thrusts gamers into the various maps of The Division, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon games, all with the goal of coming out on top. For those gamers who like a little variety, there’s a boatload of different game modes to soak in. Ubisoft went through a lot of effort to recreate the exact firearm feel and ensure authenticity. The project is being helmed by veteran CoD developer Mark Rubin.

If you’re a console gamer, fear not. There’s an XDefiant copy for PlayStation and Xbox users, as well as the remaining PC gamers.

Yes, XDefiant is free to play. Players will get to test out the wide variety of characters to choose from. All have different abilities and even a choice of ability for each person. As shown in the beta, there are multiple game modes to choose from.

For those eager gamers, the open beta ran from June 21 to June 23. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until the full release arrives later this year.

Game modes reminiscent of Capture the Flag, Domination, and Overwatch’s “Push” were featured in the open beta, alongside a few others. Odds are we’ll see more introduced or tweaked in the game at full release.

Players will be able to craft their own weapons with multiple attachments and gun types to choose between. I found the Sniper rifles incredibly strong, with most hits being a one-shot-kill.

More information about XDefiant is expected to follow ahead of the game’s release in summer 2023.
