T1 is reportedly parting ways with support Effort

Former DRX support Keria will be T1's starter for the upcoming season.

T1 is set to move on from 19-year-old support Effort, according to Fomos reporter Kenzi. This news comes two days after T1 signed former DRX support Keria as the League of Legends team’s starting support for 2021.

Effort’s professional career began on SKT in January 2017 as a trainee. He was quickly promoted through the ranks over the last few years, though, becoming a substitute and eventually a starting player.

Since he became a starter in 2018, Effort helped T1 secure two LCK titles and a Worlds qualification. But T1’s World Championship run during that year was stopped abruptly by G2 Esports in the semifinals.

T1’s journey throughout 2020 went through many highs and lows. After winning the Spring Split, T1 were considered one of the best teams in the LCK. But something happened during the Summer Split and the team fell apart. After countless attempts to adjust their lineup, the squad finished in fourth place during the summer and was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Afreeca Freecs.

In the regional gauntlet, they were seeded into the second round, where they got their revenge against AFS. But T1 were then swiftly eliminated by Gen.G for the region’s last Worlds spot.

Following the conclusion of the 2020 League season, T1 parted ways with its coaching staff and acquired coaches Daeny and Zefa from DAMWON Gaming. Daeny and Zefa helped DWG secure their first World Championship title last month.

With no current rumors surrounding Effort’s next team, it’s unclear where he’ll end up for the upcoming season.
