It looks like that incredibly pricey 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro bundle sold out in less than an hour

Who would pay that much? Many people, apparently.

The 30th anniversary for PlayStation appears to have been quite lucrative for Sony already, if today’s release of some limited edition bundles is anything to go by.

It appears that the very, very limited 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle for the PS5 Pro has already sold out, with the listing stating that it’s “Currently Unavailable” for those who are even lucky enough to get past the hour-plus queue time. The bundle, which includes the PS5 Pro, a disc drive, one DualSense Edge, a DualSense, and a charging dock all with a special, gray, PS1-inspired design, clocks in at $999. But that price hasn’t scared many away.

Many gamers have balked at the $699 price of the base PS5 Pro, but for $300 more, the bundle seems a bit more enticing for all that’s included within it. Considering that a base DualSense Edge controller is $200 on its own, it seems like a solid deal overall comparatively.

The bundle is available exclusively through PlayStation Direct, and the website is placing anyone who tries to access it into a queue. The preorders became available at 9am CT, and the “Currently Unavailable” message popped up not that much later.

Other individual items for the 30th anniversary will be available at additional retailers in a couple of weeks, but it seems as though the big bundle may be gone for good. This is unsurprising, considering it was limited to just 12,300 units total.

But the gray PS5 Slim model will likely have more units available soon, if you care less about the Pro and more about the sweet nostalgia of a PS1-looking design. The controllers, PlayStation Portal, and more will also be available elsewhere.

The PS5 Pro will officially launch on Nov. 7, so those lucky enough to secure one will have to wait over a month for it to arrive.
