The popularity of Anime Defenders shows no signs of stopping, and its contents have grown even more thanks to the exciting arrival of Limit Breakers—consumables making your best units even more powerful.
Limit Breakers are a new gameplay mechanic added courtesy of Anime Defenders‘ August Update Five. New units have been added, along with new rewards, missions, and much more.
Upgrading units is a big aspect of Roblox‘s Anime Defenders, and thanks to the inclusion of the new Limit Breaker, this is now better than ever.
How to get a Limit Breaker in Anime Defenders
Limit Breakers can be acquired in three main ways: Through the Anime Defenders Athenyx Battle Pass, Trading, or completing Infinites.
Battle Pass
The new Athenyx Battle Pass was introduced as part of the Anime Defenders Update Five patch, and it has 25 tiers for players to work their way through.
Crucially, reaching Tier 25 rewards you with Limit Breakers. If you have the free version, you are rewarded with a single Limit Breaker, but if you upgrade to the premium pass, you gain an additional two Limit Breakers—giving you three Limit Breakers in total.
Trading
Before Anime Defenders Update Five, one of the most significant gameplay additions was the ability to trade. Trading means a variety of items can be swapped between players in exchange for Gems—and one of those exchangable items happens to be Limit Breakers.
Be warned though; expect to pay a premium for a Limit Breaker, as they are an extremely rare commodity. You’ll need to shell out a bunch of Rerolls or an excessive supply of Gems to get one.
Infinites
Finally, thanks to Try Hard Guides, we know Infinites are another effective method to obtain Limit Breakers. Athenyx Infinites were another big arrival in Update Five and are a gateway to Limit Breakers. Unsurprisingly, the drop rate is exceedingly low from doing Infinites, so don’t expect to receive a surplus of Limit Breakers from doing this, and it could take many runs to get even a single one.
What are Limit Breakers in Anime Defenders?
Anime Defenders Limit Breakers let you upgrade a maxed out unit past Level 80 to Level 90—and you can currently only use one Limit Break per unit.
An extra 10 levels allows your best units to become even more dominant. It remains to be seen if the developer allows units to be on the receiving end of a second Limit Breaker to reach the Level 100 threshold, but keep checking back as we’ll update this guide if this happens.
