PUBG has reached the significant sales milestone in just over five months of early access, as the game was released into Steam’s preview program back at the end of March.

To reach this kind of sales number before the game has even been officially released yet is beyond impressive. Fun and simple gameplay, combined with word of mouth and a ton of popularity on Twitch, have played key roles in helping the game reach this height.

This newest accolade comes just three days after PUBG reached a new high of over 900,000 concurrent players on Steam. It was also the most-watched game on Twitch in August, meaning that even when people aren’t playing PUBG, they’re watching it.

Up next for PUBG is a slew of bug fixes and optimizations, along with additions like a climbing and vaulting system. There’s still plenty of work to be done before the game is officially released some time before the end of 2017.
