PUBG is absolutely killing it when it comes to crossovers with other games recently. From the Resident Evil 2 themed mode on PUBG Mobile to the already announced crossover with Tera, the popular battle royale title is giving fans more content in March.
Starting on March 5, the same date the crossover with Tera goes live, players who have PUBG on PlayStation 4 will have the chance to earn costumes and other items themed around the PS4 exclusive title Horizon: Zero Dawn.
This crossover is not the first with one of Sony’s big titles. When the game launched on PS4 on Dec. 7, 2018, players could collect a Nathan Drake outfit from Uncharted and Ellie’s backpack from The Last of Us if they preordered the game.
To celebrate the game’s two-year anniversary, developer Guerilla Games has included a full set of items themed around Eclipse, a secretive and militaristic cult from the HZD world. The Eclipse set includes a themed mask, top, a skin for the Kar98k, and a unique new pan.
“When we first spoke with the development team of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS about adding Horizon Zero Dawn themed items, we instantly thought of the Eclipse” Roy Postma, art director for Guerilla Games, said in the official announcement. “This secretive and militaristic cult fits perfectly in the PUBG universe; its members dress in intimidating ceremonial garb, intended to strike fear into the hearts of all who dare oppose them.”
Players receive the top just for logging into the game during the duration of the event. The mask is earned by participating in 10 games while the crossover is happening, the Kar98k skin can be purchased in the shop for 8,000 BP, and to get the HZD pan players will need to kill 10 enemies with the crossbow.
The HZD event will run from March 5 to April 5. You can learn more about the crossover on the PUBG official site.
