Pokémon Go players are concerned about potential Shiny issues for Arceus, Manaphy, and more

Players are dying to know what to expect from the next Pokémon Go: Tour.

Many Shiny versions of Pokémon from the Sinnoh region have yet to be released in Pokémon Go, and players are worried this will create a “logjam” in future events.

Those concerns were shared in a Reddit thread on Oct. 23, where a player noticed that all Shiny Pokémon were already available ahead of Pokémon Go Tour events previously, but that won’t be the case for the Sinnoh iteration of the event.

“To date, we don’t even have Arceus, Manaphy, and Phione in the game, let alone Shiny [versions]. Don’t forget about Shaymin’s unreleased Shiny, too,” the author wrote.

They’re worried that the upcoming Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh event will either drop a huge batch of content with many species to hunt at once through various features, or it’ll be lacking in Shiny content due to a focus put on Pokémon releases.

In the comments, players shared speculation on what the Pokémon Go Tour event will entail. Those events often feature a lot of content players can discover for two days, including features locked behind an event ticket.

“Guessing, the only shiny mythical for the Sinnoh tour will be Shaymin. The other three will have an initial release at Sinnoh tour,” read the top-voted comments.

That theory was agreed upon by other users as they don’t believe the developer would release both regular Pokémon and their Shiny versions at once, especially Mythical ones which are rarer and more precious.

Generally, players are sharing more theories on what the event will bring, although it has yet to be officially announced by Niantic.

They’ve made their wishlist of new Pokémon species they want to see join the game with the event with names such as Arceus, Manaphy, and Phione, as well as highly-awaited Mega forms.

It’s still unclear when the Pokémon Go Tour: Sinnoh will take place, other than the fact that it will be in early 2024, based on the schedule of previous iterations. The last one took place in February and highlighted Hoenn.
