How to fix stuck on connecting multiplayer error in Phasmophobia

If you’re not sure how to combat this issue, you’re certainly not alone since this is a fairly large problem affecting the entire multiplayer game mode. Here’s what you need to know about a fix for the stuck on connecting multiplayer error in Phasmophobia.

The stuck on connecting multiplayer error in Phasmophobia doesn’t have a fix because it’s caused by Vivox being down. This means the only fix for this issue is to wait for Vivox to be fixed.

On Aug. 13, 2024, Phasmophobia’s voice chat system was changed from Photon Voice to Vivox in a minor update. This update broke multiplayer as Vivox isn’t working properly, which is causing the multiplayer screen to be stuck on the “Connecting…” message when you try to select it.

Luckily for gamers, Kinetic Games is aware of this issue and working with Vivox to fix it. There’s no estimated amount of time this fix will take, though, which means all you can do is wait patiently for the voice chat system to be fixed.

You can check the status of the Vivox system on Unity’s service status website to see when this issue is repaired so you get back to ghost-hunting with friends as quickly as possible. It’s also a good idea to join the official Phasmophobia Discord since many other players are talking about this issue there. As soon as multiplayer is back up, the general chat in Discord will likely be flooded with many players talking about it, which makes it a great spot to get very quick updates.

While you wait for Phasmophobia to become playable with friends again, it’s worth learning about the Point Hope Ferryman of the Drowned Badge Easter egg so you can unlock it as soon as you get back in. Knowing all Point Hope Cursed Possession locations is also quite useful for mastering ghost hunting on this map.
