Whatever the game mode you choose in Madden 25, a strong offensive playbook is vital to picking up victories and frustrating your opponent. Fortunately, there are plenty of options to choose from.

The array of playbooks can be daunting, particularly for newer players, but we’ve outlined the best choices whether you’re a returning fan or new to the series.

Madden 25 best offensive playbooks

We’ve outlined some of our favorite playbooks in Madden 25 below, along with some details on why they might be the right fit for you.

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins offensive playbook is a good choice for players who want a variety of new plays to choose from with plenty of auto-motion plays. These motion plays are found in several playbook formations, providing many options.

This playbook also has the Tight Slots formation, which has long been among the best offensive formations in the Madden franchise. Though it doesn’t include the Flood play, you can make your own using hot routes.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots playbook has been a favorite among Madden players for years, particularly on the competitive scene, and familiarity with the playbook means it’s a great starting point for many players.

A big selling point for this playbook is the Y Off Trips Pats formation, which provides various options with the ball. Trips TE is also solid for players who like to bring their TE into the game, and overall, it’s a good choice for players looking for medium passing options.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Shotgun formations in the Cincinnati Bengals playbook, including the Bunch Str Nasty and Bunch Offset. Both formations will be familiar to returning Madden players and provide plenty of versatility in offense.

The Tight Slots formation is also strong in the Bengals playbook and gives many medium-range passing options. This also includes Fades and Zig routes, among the best for beating man-to-man defense.

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers playbook is a great starting point for any player looking to identify where they excel in offense. It includes a variety of the best formations in the game, including Shotgun, which includes some of the best plays.

The versatility of the Green Bay Packers playbook is likely to make it one of the most common choices for players in Madden all the way up to the competitive level. Even if you don’t stick with it, it’s the perfect place to find where you want to focus.

New York Jets

The Gun Tight Offset TE and Gun Trips TE Offset formations in the New York Jets playbook make it one to watch. There are some great options for hand-offs, mid-range passes, and long pass smashes down the field in these formations.

This formation can burn through any defense, regardless of whether they are playing man or zone coverage, and is difficult to stop. They’re great for picking up big plays and huge yard gains, making any player who uses this playbook a deadly threat.

Kansas City Chiefs

Unsurprisingly, the Super Bowl champions have a solid playbook in Madden 25. The best part of the Kansas City Chiefs playbook is two Gun formations: Gun Y Off Trips Nasty and Gun Tight Open.

Both formations provide explosive plays on the ground and in the air, which can become even stronger with slight adjustments. Another bonus is the addition of pitch plays, which can be a nightmare to defend against.

Dallas Cowboys

With its strong Singleback and Gun Bunch formations, the Dallas Cowboys playbook is another strong choice for those looking to dominate their opponents. Both formations are more versatile than others we’ve mentioned, with solid air and ground options.

Again, minor adjustments to your plays can really make the difference—like switching your running route to the opposite side if you notice a defensive overload. For those who like completions for the highlight reel, there’s also a bunch of deep throws where your receivers can be wide-open.

San Francisco 49ers

Similarly to the Chiefs, it’s not surprising that the defeated team in the Super Bowl is featured among the best offensive playbooks. Two Gun formations are particularly strong, resulting in a devastating offense.

The 0 1 Trap play is featured in several strong playbooks and is a great option for gaining yards on the ground. The 49ers playbook also features a Jet Touch Pass. When used correctly, these two plays can dominate any opponent.

Philadelphia Eagles

Another playbook that excels due to two Gun formations, the Philadelphia Eagles is another option to consider. With some powerful running and passing plays, you can boast a double-threat offense that grinds down any opponent.

The Eagles have several great plays in various situations, including medium-range passing and long-range bullets. Mixing it up is a great way to keep your opponent on their toes, and the Eagles playbook gives you plenty in your arsenal.

Indianapolis Colts

Once again, two Gun formations in particular make the Indianapolis Colts playbook shine, as both the Gun Bunch Offset and Gun Bunch Str Nasty shine. It isn’t easy to stop if you can perfect plays in these formations.

Read options are a particular strength in this playbook, providing the choice of whether to stick with the ground or find an open receiver. The ability to be flexible makes you difficult to predict.
