Which LoL champion says, ‘Purge with silver’?

Today’s LoLdle quote was a bit of a challenge, which I suppose I brought on myself considering I’ve been asking for harder League of Legends champion quotes for some time now. Like today’s character, this one hunted me down.

Only those who love marksman in bot and top lane in Season 14—or veteran ADC players—may know the LoLdle quote from today. I’ve included the answer below.

Who says, “Purge with silver” in LoL?

The LoLdle quote on Aug. 7 is, “Purge with silver.” The League champion who says this line is Vayne.

My first thought here was Sivir, but that was wrong. So, I had to really think out of the box to solve this. As I was mulling it over I was thinking about how in the TV show Supernatural silver is used to detect and kill monsters, and then I thought, wouldn’t it be funny if the answer was Vayne, who happens to be a monster hunter? And that was somehow correct. I’m now doubly glad I’m rewatching Supernatural.

I’ve never played Vayne (seeing as she’s an AD carry and I’m a support main), so I didn’t know she had an ability called Silver Bolts, or that she says this voice line when using the ability. She’s quite literally purging her League enemies with silver.

While it’s sad to see this monster hunter benched in the meta, it was quite nice getting another hard Loldle quote like yesterday’s Mordekaiser one. Despite how tough they can be, I hope this is a sign of more tough quotes in the future.
