The mysterious helicopter that’s been flying around the Fortnite: Battle Royale island has landed east of Loot Lake after being last spotted on a mountain to the west of the area. This is the 15th location where the helicopter has landed since appearing northwest of the volcano a few weeks ago for the first time.
All the last five spots where the helicopter has landed were in Loot Lake’s surroundings, but this is the first time it’s landed on it. It’s moved one day after the excavation site in the area had been fully dug up, revealing a bunker underneath.

Once again, the helicopter changed nothing in the area where it’s landed. It’s the first time it seems to be connected, to some extent, to the excavation sites that have been popping up around the island, and there’s a chance that Epic Games is cooking something related to it for the next few updates.
Major theories that involve the helicopter now also tie it to the upcoming season eight special skin, Ruin. This skin was revealed last week as the one players will be able to unlock once the eighth set of weekly challenge is available on April 18, and Ruin seems to be connected to fire and the excavations sites based on the teaser images that have been revealed. Since the helicopter is getting close to the excavation sites, we could see Ruin have something to do with it as well.
Either way, Fortnite’s helicopter is just another object for players to be keeping track of. Doing so may seem pointless now, but players keep on monitoring it in hopes that it’ll all make sense anytime soon. With the v8.30 update coming this week, there’s a chance that’ll be proven true.
