Fortnite Zero Build is ‘here to stay’ despite Chapter One return, leakers claim

Old map, new mode.

Despite its popularity in Fortnite, the rumored return to Chapter One next season stirred fears Zero Build might be shelved since the original map wasn’t designed for it. Leakers have today eased concerns, assuring everyone it will still be playable.

The assurance comes from Shiina, who said Zero Build will “still be around” in Fortnite Chapter One Season Five. According to their sources, Epic Games has totally revamped the original battle royale map and has specifically added zip lines everywhere to ensure a smooth experience in the very popular Zero Build mode.

Zero Build mode will also have all the same features next season, including movement mechanics, Shiina added. Players have adapted to these features, which have become a core element, so not having them would have disappointed those who have mained the mode.

Players have been dreaming of the day they could return to the original Fortnite map, with many especially eager to drop into beloved spots like Greasy Grove, Lucky Landing, Retail Row, Risky Reels, and the iconic Tilted Towers. Now, with Zero Build also in play, it seems they’ll get to relive these places with an added twist.

Adding to the excitement, all the battle royal’s original weapons are rumored to be making a comeback too. There won’t be any souped up assault rifles or upgrades. It’s a move by Epic to create a season centered on revisiting a simpler time.

Chapter One Season Five is set to launch once the current Fortnite season wraps up, which is expected to happen on Friday, Nov. 3. It’ll be clear then whether Zero Build stays, but all the signs already point toward yes.

It seems unlikely Epic would scrap this beloved mode, even for a season.
