Fortnite: Battle Royale might receive military-themed points of interest or buildings soon, Epic revealed in the v8.30 Creative patch notes.
The company wrote that “new military buildings” will “premiere in Creative before Battle Royale.” The Tropical Island in Creative will receive a military version, and players will be able to choose six new Military prefabs, eight galleries for team variations, and new galleries for military numbers, props, and lights. Regardless of what it is, players will be able to have a sneak peek at these military-themed structures before they’re added to Battle Royale somehow.

We have yet to learn how and when that might happen. Considering the context, it could either be part of a new Limited Time Mode for a military match or some kind of event that will change a few locations in the Fortnite island. It could either be something like Pirate Camps that were added when season eight started or a full map overhaul like when snow covered the island at the end of season seven.
The only thing that’s somehow related to the military now in Fortnite: Battle Royale is the mysterious helicopter that has already landed on 15 different spots since it was first spotted by players. It hasn’t changed anything in the map yet, but maybe it’s exactly what is teasing that the military will soon arrive in the island to take care of some trouble.
For now, all we can do is wait for the military and create our own points of interest in Creative.
