Bottle Rockets are vaulted as availability of Clingers and Infantry Rifle tweaked in Fortnite

General tweaks will make Clingers appear less often.

A new Fortnite update has just been released, and players already learned about everything that’s coming with it in the v8.01 patch notes released earlier today.

Developer Epic Games has announced changes that are specific to weapons and consumable items. With the addition of the Buried Treasure item to chests and Floor Loot, the company adjusted the spawn rates of Infantry Rifles and Clingers in these two sources while completely vaulting Bottle Rockets.

This means Bottle Rockets are gone from Fortnite default playlists (Solo, Duos, and Squads) and all Limited Time Modes and Events, unless specified like in a mode such as Unvaulted. It may be found too once an LTM mode with explosive items only, like High Explosives, returns to Fortnite.

The Infantry Rifle availability was reduced in about one percent in chests and only 0.2 percent in Floor Loot, which might have a small impact on its availability during matches. Clingers, on the other hand, have gone from a 9.42 percent chance of appearing after players open a chest to 5.52, which will change its overall availability considerably.

Players can expect matches with much fewer Clingers and just a bit fewer Infantry Rifles. These might not have a huge impact in the overall Fortnite metagame since Epic added no big items with similar effects to make up for these changes, so players just might need to spend their Clingers more wisely from now on.

Players will be able to test the effects of these weapon and item changes in their matches as soon as the server downtime for the Fortnite v8.01 update is over and servers are back online.
