Now that the marathon is over, though, VODs have slowly started to appear on the GamesDoneQuick YouTube channel, giving fans the chance to watch these speedruns for years to come.

To celebrate another great event, we looked back at all the speedruns that were completed at AGDQ 2019 and picked out some of our favorites from the week-long festivities—for better or worse.

Sonic the Hedgehog – Dr. Fatbody

This was arguably the most hype speedrun of the entire marathon. Dr. Fatbody brought some showmanship to his speedrun at AGDQ and offered an insightful, entertaining run that had been missing from GDQ events for quite some time. It’s truly something that needs to be watched for your enjoyment.

Semblance – halfcoordinated

There’s a good chance you never knew this game even existed before halfcoordinated played it at AGDQ 2019. This was an entertaining speedrun made only more impressive by the fact that the runner was playing the game one handed. It was one of the more memorable speedruns at AGDQ this year and it really got the crowd going.

Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion – TonesBalones

GDQ events are no stranger to Splatoon games since both have been run in the game’s history. This, however, was the first time that the Octo Expansion was run at a GDQ event—and it did not disappoint.

GTA: Vice City – KZ_FREW

This was an exceptional speedrun full of great strategies, jokes, and well-orchestrated explanations. Frew’s speedrun of Vice City was everything that you could want from a GDQ run. It was as close to perfect as you could imagine and one of the highlights of the week.

Tomb Raider II – SmoothOperative

SmoothOperative speedran Tomb Raider II fantastically, offering a chill run during the hectic week that was very insightful and fun to watch. The charming personality of the speedrunner and her couch was just a bonus.
