‘I love this’: CS2 fans excited after creator shares progress on much-anticipated map

We want it, and we want it now.

Many of the classic maps from Counter-Strike 1.6 and CS:GO haven’t yet been added to the latest game in the franchise, Counter-Strike 2. Luckily, one of them is getting closer, as its developer shared a new update.

FMPONE is the original creator of Cache, a beloved map from CS:GO, and he’s working on bringing the map to CS2. The developer has been hard at work for months, and revealed new screenshots of Cache on X on Aug. 21, sparking excitement among players.

Two areas of the map were shared by FMPONE: Checkers and Garage. The first now features glass panels between it and Sand Bags. The map-maker confirmed it will be now spammable, making it possible to “wall from back of site B to quad theoretically.” One player responded with a simple “I love this” when reading about the changes. When it comes to Garage, there seem to be no gameplay changes, at least from this angle.

Like with each Cache update from FMPONE, this one was no different in terms of sparking the fans’ anticipation. “Ooo damn we been spoilt tonight, looks great,” one of them wrote on X. “This shit is so peak,” another added.

Unfortunately, as of now, there is no release window for Cache, and FMPONE didn’t want to share any details regardless of the numerous questions on X. The map has been in development for quite a while, but Cache’s launch might come sooner rather than later.
