G2 defeated both Natus Vincere and Renegades in best-of-three series play, winning each series with clean two-game sweeps. These results secured G2’s spot in the playoffs and avenged their first day loss against Na`Vi.

On the opening map, Cobblestone, G2 recovered from a slow start to win nine of the final 10 rounds played in the first half. Na`Vi charged back by starting the second half with five straight rounds, but G2 responded by winning seven of the final eight rounds for the 16-12 victory.

Inferno, the second map in this series, looked like a blowout win for Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko’s side as Na`Vi opened a 10-0 lead. But G2 again went on a tear, winning 16 of the next 20 rounds to complete their sweep of Na`Vi.

Kenny “kennyS” Schrub was the lead performer for G2, hitting his trademark AWP shots and racking up 52 frags across the two maps played.

Besting Renegades earlier in the day was a far simpler affair for the French side. Renegades only won 11 rounds combined across two lost maps, with G2 opening both games with 13-2 halftime leads, effectively squelching any hope Renegades might have had for an upset.

KennyS once again was at the top of the scoreboard against Renegades with a combined 44 frags and only 18 deaths. Renegades players Keith “NAF” Markovic and Aaron “AZR” Ward offered some resistance, but their teammates simply weren’t up to the task against the defending DreamHack Masters champions.

G2 Esports now join FaZe Clan in the ELEAGUE Premier playoff round. The other six teams will be determined as the group stage plays out over the next three weeks.
