The Counter-Strike Major championship finally returns to NA as the BLAST Austin Major 2025 Major 2025 brings the world’s top CS2 teams to Texas for a shot at cementing their legacy in esports history.

Team Vitality rolls into Austin still hot after their dominant run at IEM Dallas, where they extended their historic winning streak to 30. Led by the veteran apEX, they’re chasing a second Major trophy since their victory at BLAST Paris Major 2023.

It wouldn’t be a walk in the park for the French organization, though, as Team Spirit, the winner of the previous CS2 Major in Shanghai, is riding the momentum from a pretty easy win at PGL Astana. Team Falcons, MOUZ, The MongolZ, NAVI, and the revamped FaZe Clan could also give Vitality a run for their money.

This is the first Major in the U.S. in seven years, or since the ELEAGUE Boston Major in 2018. And what a comeback it is, as the event features some of the greatest players in CS history, including ZyWoo, m0NESY, donk, and s1mple.

Here’s everything you need to know about the BLAST Austin Major 2025, which features a $1.25 million prize pool.

BLAST Austin Major 2025 dates

The Austin Major spans nearly three weeks, running from June 3 to 22, 2025. Here’s a breakdown of the key dates for each stage of the tournament:

  • Stage 1: June 3-6
  • Stage 2: June 7-10
  • Stage 3: June 12-15
  • Playoffs: June 19-22

BLAST Austin Major 2025 teams and format

A total of 32 teams are set to compete in the Major. Sixteen (16) teams are already seeded into Stages 2 and 3, while the other 16 teams who made it through the Major Regional Qualifiers (MRQ) clash in Stage 1. All teams, including those in the MRQs, have been invited using the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) system.

All three stages use the same 16-team Swiss System format. Matches are best-of-one, except for advancement and elimination matches, which are best-of-three. The top eight teams advance to the next stage, while the bottom eight are eliminated.

In the playoffs, the eight remaining teams battle it out in a single elimination bracket at the Moody Center. All matches are best-of-three, including the grand final.
