ACHES will square off against OpTic Gaming in the second season of the CWL Global Pro League

The 16 pro league teams are now set in their groups for Stage Two.

The groups for the second season of the Call of Duty World League Global Pro League were finalized earlier today—and these pools just got a lot more interesting.

MLG’s live selection show on June 2 randomly placed the top 12 teams from the first season of the CWL GPL into four groups. But the final four squads in each pool still had to be determined at last Thursday’s relegation tournament.

Cloud9, Red Reserve, BitterSweet, and Fnatic conquered the relegation tournament to qualify for the second season of the CWL GPL—but these teams still needed to find out which pro league group they would be placed in.

MLG tweeted a video earlier today to show fans which group each team will be in. Here are the finalized groups for the second season of the CWL Global Pro League.

Group Red

  • Luminosity
  • Evil Geniuses
  • Mindfreak
  • Fnatic

Group Blue

  • FaZe Clan
  • Enigma6
  • Elevate
  • BitterSweet

Group Yellow

  • Splyce
  • eUnited
  • Rise Nation
  • Red Reserve

Group Green

  • OpTic Gaming
  • Team EnVyUs
  • Epsilon Esports
  • Cloud9

Group Green will now be even more exciting than it already was with the addition of Cloud9 and Patrick “ACHES” Price’s rivalry with OpTic Gaming.

Following BitterSweet’s performance at the CWL Anaheim Open last weekend, Group Blue just became more difficult for FaZe Clan and Enigma6. Red Reserve could pull off some upsets in Group Yellow, but Fnatic might have a tough time in Group Red, especially against Luminosity, who just won the CWL Anaheim Open.

All of these groups are going to feature excellent matches, and the Call of Duty community is definitely excited for the CWL GPL to resume action on June 30.
