The Battlefield 6 open beta has wrapped up, and unless another testing phase is announced, players will need to wait until the full launch on Oct. 10 to jump back in. To bridge that lengthy gap, EA DICE has rolled out the Road to Battlefield 6 event in Battlefield 2042, giving fans a reason to stay engaged in the franchise.

Running from Aug. 18 to Oct. 7, the event includes a free battle pass packed with exclusive Battlefield 6 rewards, alongside cosmetics that pay tribute to different eras of the franchise. These items are inspired by the legacy of past Battlefield titles, celebrating the series’ evolution leading up to the new release.

The Road to Battlefield 6 battle pass introduces 60 free tiers as part of the Battlefield 2042 Update 9.2, headlined by the revamped Iwo Jima map. Players can unlock over 50 new cosmetics inspired by iconic titles across the franchise, including Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4.

Most notably, the pass includes a ton of exclusive Battlefield 6 rewards, spread across six tiers that will be available at launch. These rewards are bundled into packs, which can be unlocked at different tiers of the battle pass progression:

Tier 8: Cosmetic pack featuring four items, headlined by the Western Front weapon skin for a pistol

Tier 19: Cosmetic pack featuring four items, headlined by the Muller weapon skin for a pistol

Tier 30: Cosmetic pack featuring four items, headlined by the Aurora vehicle skin for a tank

Tier 40: Cosmetic pack featuring four items, headlined by the Blackburn vehicle skin for a tank

Tier 49: Cosmetic pack featuring five items, headlined by the Commander operator skin

Tier 60: Cosmetic pack featuring seven items, headlined by the Sovereign Soldier operator skin

How to unlock BF6 rewards in BF2042

You can progress through the tiers by earning XP and completing weekly missions, which grant the points needed to advance in the battle pass. Each week also features a limited-time bonus mission that offers extra points when completed.

While these rewards can be unlocked by playing Battlefield 2042 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, it’s important to note that Battlefield 6 itself will only be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
