Apex Legends players have reported seeing the season one Battle Pass Legend Bonus cap double this afternoon. What would previously let players get 25,000 additional Battle Pass Points per legend was apparently shifted to 50,000. The bonus cap would roll back to 25,000 as soon as players finished a match, apparently failing to count the Legend Bonus from that match.
During tests, we spotted the cap increase back to 50,000 and the additional points are awarded upon restarting the game after the glitch, allowing players to go beyond the old cap.
Respawn Entertainment first said that the character bonus BP would be reset every week, which would allow players to get another 25,000 BP per character even if they previously reached the cap. The behavior spotted today, which so far seems to be a glitch of some kind, causes the system to add another 25,000 to the cap instead of resetting it. Players have been left with neither a cap reset nor a true cap increase so far.
Respawn released the Apex season one Battle Pass last Tuesday, and players found out how the Battle Points system worked and how to use it to level up their Battle Pass fast. Players can get additional Battle Points for surviving with all legends, and they stop receiving that bonus once the cap is reached. They can then switch legends until they reach the cap with another character.
Respawn has yet to comment on the issue with the Legend Bonus Points. Dot Esports has reached out to Respawn about the current situation.
