The ESL Pro League in Europe has its first team set for the offline finals stage in December—Fnatic.
The Swedes maintained their spot as the number one seed in the online league last night when they defeated FaZe Clan on Mirage (16-7) and Cache (16-12). This win, along with another set of wins on Mirage (16-4) and Train (16-8) against Astralis in week five, allowed Fnatic to clinch a spot for the finals, which will be from Dec. 5 to 10 in Odense, Denmark.

Under the leadership of Maikil “Golden” Selim, who was formerly the shot-caller for the Fnatic Academy squad, Fnatic put up a 16-8 win-loss record in their run to clinch a spot in the season’s finals. Jesper “JW” Wecksell, Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson, and Freddy “KRiMZ” Johansson earned some of the best numbers in the region, attaining 1.22, 1.22, and 1.18 HLTV 2.0 ratings, respectively. Three fifths of the team are in the top eight players, and this has given the team the best average rating so far at 1.13.
The successful Swedish side joins SK Gaming and OpTic Gaming on the team list for the twelve-team finals. SK and OpTic currently hold the one and two seeds for the league in North America.
The remaining five spots for the European side of the league will be determined later this week, as the season will end on Saturday, Nov. 11.
